We are delighted that you have chosen to investigate our services through our website.

Our specialty is training people to train their dogs. We offer various classes as well as many types of private consultation.

Our teaching methods consider the needs of the human learner as well as the dog. Training techniques are based on establishing leadership (not to be confused with dominance!). Our mission is to set up handler and dog for maximum success. We teach using positive reinforcement only, rather than punishment.

We also recognize that every dog and every owner form a unique partnership. Your desires and needs will be assessed during your first class or private lesson. We are committed to addressing what you want from your relationship with your dog.

What We Do & What We Don't Do

We Don't:

Use prong, shock or choke collars
Jerk on the collar to correct the dog
Correct the dog when we haven't already completely taught him what we want him to do
Set the dog up for failure

We Do:

Help you understand the root causes of "normal" but unwanted dog behaviors
Work with you to set up a management program to prevent unwanted behaviors until new behaviors are in place
Teach you how to:
- Teach your dog the rules of your household (pack) = MANNERS!
- Use positive reinforcement (usually food rewards) in training
- Use management and training tools that are gentle on your dog
- Teach your dog to want to pay attention to you
- Teach your dog useful obedience skills
- Transition from frequent to less frequent rewards when you and your dog are ready
- Set your dog up for success in training and living with you
